Celebrating NSO’s 69TH Anniversary
“Happy Together!” This was the theme and feel of the Regional Office XII’s kick-off activities held last July 30, 2009. RD Manulon headed the short program and underlined the call for a more quality service as government servants working with the NSO. He elaborated further the gist of this year’s theme, “Dekalidad na serbisyo, hatid ng NSO sa ika-animnapu’t-siyam na anibersaryo!”
No later, the ceremonial unveiling of panel exhibits was done. Said exhibits were put up at the visitor’s/receiving area, office’s Batch Request Entry System (BREQS) Servicing area and hallway. The display showcased NSO’s history, vision, mission, core values, mandates, activities, organizational structure, and various statistical and civil registration products and services. Various pictures that support the office’s activities and services were also highlighted.

Exhibits were initially displayed during the Kabisig Government Expo and Small and Medium Enterprise Trade Fair at KCC Mall, General Santos City from May 11 to 15, 2009 and thereafter at NSO General Santos City’s Serbilis Outlet.
Administrative Officer IV Lorna M. Sumalpong took center stage on August 10 right after the Monday morning flag ceremony during her presentation underscoring NSO’s history, vision, mission, core values, mandates, activities, recognitions, organizational structure, statistical and civil registration products and services. Meanwhile, Regional Director Manulon echo former NSO Administrator Tomas P. Africa’s topic, “A Winning Formula for Change” on August 24. Same subject was given during the 6th National Convention of Solemnizing Officers last August 4 to 6, 2009 at SM Mall of Asia’s Convention Center.
Ms. Maria Christina T. Macion, Registered Medical Technologist of the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC), Cotabato City Chapter was invited as the office’s Resource Speaker on Blood Letting Program and Services of PNRC on August 17, 2009. This was a preliminary activity of the office in line with the office’s formal tie-up with the PNRC for a blood-letting session every February and August of the year, in observance of the office’s Civil Registration Month and office anniversary, respectively.
NSO Regional Office XII’s steadfast commitment to reach out to its adopted school, Muamad Elementary School at Barangay Poblacion IX, Biniruan, Cotabato City, was yet again exemplified thru donation of school supplies to 163 Grade 1 pupils. Gift set comprised of a colored plastic envelope, 12 pieces color crayons, Grade 1 pad paper, Mongol pencil, Grade 1 black pencil, sharpener and eraser.
The gift-giving event was realized during the anniversary day, August 19, where Regional Director Manulon, the rest of the regional office staff and FIES Encoders, became patrons and angels to the pool of pupils. The event was witnessed by Mrs. Malipa T. Adzal, Al-Hadja, School Principal, and her all 14 female teachers. The gift-giving activity was a sequel to the office’s turn-over of books solicited from Asian Foundation Philippines’ Books for Asia Program last June 30, 2009.
The regional office realized “Sagip, Saya, Bingo Na!” as an anniversary activity to reach out to flood victims in Cotabato City and its neighboring areas. The event was done on August 24 at the office’s library. Half of the total proceeds per game were awarded to the winner, while the remainder was allocated for the donation to typhoon Jolina’s flood victims.
The anniversary day was given an exultant bash with board games and parlor games. Evening’s event was tagged as 69 MADNESS GET-TOGETHER PARTY that was held at Kitok’s Lechon Haws, Cotabato City. Meanwhile, a thanksgiving mass was sponsored by the regional office last August 26 at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Cotabato City with Fr. Loreto Sanoy, DCC as officiating priest. |
